DELAYED OPENING IS NOW A SECOND SNOW DAY

The South Orange Maplewood School District announced a last-minute change this morning, switching from a planned delayed opening to a second snow day in a row due to icy conditions.

Calls and emails went out after  8 a.m. telling parents the change had been made, and offering an apology. The delayed opening had initially scheduled classes to start two hours later.

An email noted that icy conditions had been worse than expected.

This marks the last of the three snow days allotted in the school calendar. If any other days off are required, they will be made up during the April vacation.
