BOARD TO SET NEXT GOALS NEEDED FOR RAMOS' MERIT BONUS

Superintendent John Ramos needs to reach specific goals related to staff development, boost participation in higher-level courses by "underrepresented" student groups, and increase one area of revenue if he wants to receive another merit bonus at the end of the school year.

Ramos, who recently ended his first year on the job, was granted a $23,000 bonus by the school board several weeks ago. The bonus is based on merit goals set by the board each year.

The board holds its regular monthly meeting tonight. One of the agenda items is approval of the merit goals for Ramos that will determine his future possible bonus.

See the resolution and the goals below:

The meeting is again set for the Columbia High School library due to ongoing repairs at the board offices. The meeting is set for 7:30 p.m.
