DE HART PARK ROBBERY AND ARREST, AND OTHER THEFTS, LEAD POLICE WEEK

From Maplewood Police:

October 4, 2016; Robbery; At approximately 2:30 PM officers responded to a reported fight at Dehart Park on Burnett Ave.  Upon their arrival, several subjects attempted to flee the park.  An 18 year old and two 16 year olds from Irvington were stopped by officers while attempting to flee.  A 15 year old victim also from Irvington, reported that he knows the group and that they had taken his phone after assaulting him.  The two juveniles and 18 year old Juan Maintato were all taken into custody and charged with a variety of charges ranging from simple assault to robbery based upon the investigation.  The victim was treated for minor injuries.

October 4, 2016; Bicycle Theft; A bicycle left in the backyard of a home on Essex Ave was stolen sometime during the overnight hours.

October 4, 2016; Theft; A package was stolen from the front of a Ridgewood Rd home between 3PM and 5 PM.

October 7, 2016; Theft; A package was stolen from the front of a Meadowbrook Rd residence sometime during the day.

October 7, 2016; Theft; Sometime over the previous week, a snow blower was stolen from the rear of a business on Tuscan St.

October 8, 2016; Shoplifting; At approximately 10:30 AM, officers responded to a reported shoplifting at CVS on Valley St.  Upon their arrival, they were informed that a male had stolen several bottles of Dove.  Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate anyone fitting the description of the actor.
