FATAL NJ TRANSIT VICTIM IDENTIFIED AS SPRINGFIELD LAWYER

The woman who was struck and killed by a train near Maplewood station has been identified as a 45-year Springfield resident, according to a NJ Transit spokeswoman.

She said the woman, Kara Beloreshka, was struck by the eastbound train at about 10 p.m. Saturday. She is listed online as an attorney with 17 years experience.

Train service was suspended for about 90 minutes, but resumed before Midnight.

About 175 passengers were on the train, but no injuries were reported.
