MAPLEWOOD POLICE TO RECEIVE 45 BODYCAMS

The Maplewood Police Department will soon purchase 45 bodycams for police after the Township Committee on Tuesday approved spending $16,305 on the devices in an effort to better monitor police behavior.

We reported in December that the Township had received a $22,500 state grant for the items. After seeking bids for the project, the Township received three, with the lowest from a California company that will charge $38,805.

The TC on Tuesday approved a resolution for the additional $16,305 needed to cover the cost in addition to the state grant.
