BEHIND THE SCENES AS MAPLEWOOD FIREFIGHTERS TRAIN AT PSE&G SITE

We peeked in on the Maplewood Fire Department on Wednesday as they used the former PSE&G building on Boyden Avenue for some training exercises before it is torn down next week to make way for a 235-unit apartment complex.

Fire Chief Michael Dingelstedt said the firefighters practiced cutting through metal doors and hacking their way in with an axe, along with dragging fire hoses up staircases during the drills that began Tuesday and are set to end Friday.
