CLINTON SCHOOL STUDENTS GET BROADWAY ACCOLADES

From NJ.com

Stage fright did not take over this weekend when a group of New Jersey elementary school students put on a Broadway review, thanks to good luck wishes from actors actually starring in Broadway shows.

As the 357 Kindergarteners through fifth graders at Clinton Elementary School were preparing for a community performance, they received video words of encouragement from the likes of Kelsey Grammer, Tony Danza, and other professionals working in the business.

"The show is all parent directed, and run by volunteers," Mary Egan Callahan, a PTA member and mother of two students at the school, said. "This year, the theme of the show was Broadway, so I thought it'd be great to try to put a video together with some Broadway inspiration."

Callahan works as a casting director in New York. She said she sent out emails asking Broadway casts to record messages of good luck for the young actors, and videos started rolling in.

"I couldn't believe it," she said. "It was just so nice of (the Broadway actors), and we got so many videos."
