MAPLEWOOD POLICE ISSUE WEATHER ALERT

From Maplewood Police:

Weather Advisory Monday Night until Tuesday Morning

Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from Monday night to 11 AM EST Tuesday with snow accumulations from 2 to 4 inches. Snow will begin Monday night and continue overnight into Tuesday morning. Snow will make roadways slippery and blowing snow may reduce visibility to one quarter mile or less at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions: A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.

If you lose power, contact your local power provider and not Police Communications unless an emergency exists:

PSE&G: 800-436-7734
JCP&L: 888-544-4877

Treat all downed power lines as if they are still live. Do not approach or touch any downed line. It is encouraged to charge all cell phones and have extra batteries in the event you lose power.

Please help the Department of Public Works with snow removal by removing your vehicle from the side of the road. Do not push snow from your driveway back onto the street. Do not call 9-1-1 about snow removal from your street. Please review the Snow Emergency Routes.

After the storm, remember to clear all snow and ice for your vehicle, sidewalks and fire hydrants!
