SCHOOL BOARD APPOINTS NEW MMS PRINCIPAL, UPDATES SUPE SEARCH

New MMS principal Jerrill Adams
The Board of Education appointed Jerrill Adams, a veteran of the New York City public schools, as the new principal at Maplewood Middle School Monday night.

He replaces Jeffrey Truppo, who left during the summer for another job. (See his lengthy resume from LinkedIn HERE)

School Board President Beth Daugherty also offered an update on the search for a new superintendent of schools. She said more focus groups would be held next month, but that 25 applicants had already submitted their names for consideration.

Some 700 people have submitted surveys online with input, while another 200 have come to focus groups so far, she said.

Daugherty added that the board would decide in November which candidates to interview and interviews would be held in December, but no finalists would be named until January after the new board of education is seated.
