STUDENT PLAYS "OFFENSIVE" SONG THROUGH CHS PA SYSTEM

This note was sent to Columbia High School parents via email this morning.

At approximately 9:10 a.m. this morning, a student mistakenly played inappropriate music from his personal iPod that was plugged in to the school's public address system soundboard.  Music with offensive lyrics went out throughout the school for approximately 30 seconds before being cut off.

I immediately addressed the entire school community through the public address system, emphasizing the inappropriate nature of the music and that it has no place in our community.  We have taken corrective action to ensure that this type of incident does not reoccur.

It does not disclose which song was played, but we hope to find out.
