THEFTS FROM AUTOS, BURGLARIES MARK WEEK

This from Maplewood Police:


April 29, 2013; Theft from Auto; During the overnight hours, a theft from a vehicle on Cherry Pl occurred.  The vehicle was left unlocked and change was removed from the vehicle.

April 30, 2013; Theft from Auto; During the overnight hours, an unlocked vehicle parked on Jefferson Ave had change removed from it.

April 30, 2013; Theft from Auto; A vehicle parked on Jacoby St had it’s window broken and an iphone removed at approximately 10 AM.

April 30, 2013; Burglary; At 12:55 PM officers responded to a residential alarm call on 44th St.  Upon their arrival, the home was found to have been burglarized.  Jewelry and electronics were reported to be missing.

May 1, 2013; Suspicious Person;  At approximately 1210 AM, officers responded to the area of Walton Rd following a report from a South Orange resident that they had witnessed someone in their vehicle.  Officer Alex Wright located an individual fitting the description provided.  South Orange officers were able to identify him as the actor and took Jonathan Randall, age 25 of Maplewood into custody. 

May 5, 2013; Burglary; Between 2 and 6 PM a home on Menzel Ave was entered and a DVD player removed.  At this time nothing else is reported missing.

All incidents are currently under investigation by the Detective Bureau.  Residents are asked to practice good crime prevention techniques and secure their garages and automobiles when left unattended.
