MAYOR ON 9/11

Mayor De Luca did not apparently want to use the township email system to alert us about post-hurricane updates, but does so for the great 9/11 memorial planned

Note the various religious leader inclusion:

On Sunday, September 11th at 2:00pm, the Township of Maplewood is sponsoring a memorial service at the Hilton Branch of the Maplewood Library on Springfield Avenue. The service will include the dedication of a World Trade Center monument, which consists of a piece of steel from the trade center building that, has been placed in a stone monument by our Department of Public Works. A local landscaper, Brickman, donated the plantings and stone pathway around the monument.

The service will include the participation of the Maplewood Police Department and Maplewood Fire Department. Musical selections will be from the South Mountain Brass Quintet. Spiritual readings will be by Rabbi Francine Roston, Imam W Deen Shareef and Reverend Rick Boyer.

Please join your friends and neighbors on Sunday at 2:00pm.

In case of rain, the service will be held in the Maplewood courtroom in the police station.

Thank you.

Mayor Vic De Luca
